Measuring local resilience in African communities: roundtable report

The Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN) convened a roundtable on Accountable Adaptation: measuring local resilience in African communities at the Africa Climate Summit and Africa Climate Week.

The roundtable brought together various actors including the national adaptation focal, donors, academics, researchers, the private sector and local community champions working on adaptation in Kenya and Africa. The roundtable catalysed discussions on what measurement of adaptation means to vulnerable African communities, especially women and small-scale farmers. The discussions centred on the neglect of locally led adaptation and measurement gaps which hinder equitable planning.
