Exceeding 1.5°, what does this mean for the planet - panel discussion

Jonathan Barnes represented Accountable Adaptation on a panel organised by Goals House as part of London Climate Action Week. The panel explored what it means to maintain the 1.5° climate goal, some of the tools available to help us and how to talk about the target and other climate change topics with different audiences.

We are on track to reach 1.5° this decade. Now, more effort than ever is needed to reduce and avoid emissions because every 10th of a degree counts. In parallel, we urgently need finance, technology and politics to align to massively scale up adaptation efforts to deal with the impacts of climate change. Jonathan offered his expertise in this area alongside panellists Maeve Campbell (freelance journalist), Michelle Li (Clever Carbon), Joshua Amponsem (Green Africa Youth Organisation) and Michael White (Nature Portfolio).

Goals House is a diverse community of businesses and political leaders, activists, NGOs and entrepreneurs that come together at significant global moments, united in their shared mission of driving progress to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
