Dharam Uprety has a Ph.D. in Forestry and livelihood at the University of Natural Resources and Life sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria in 2006 and did a post-Doctorate Degree in Environmental Sciences at the Czech University of Life sciences in Prague, Czech Republic in 2008. Dr. Uprety has over 18 years of professional working experience in the field of climate change adaptation, early warning system, disaster risk management, and forestry both at the national and international organizations. Dr. Uprety is the International Council Member of IUFRO (International Union of Forestry Research Organisations) for Nepal. He is currently working in Practical Action South Asia office based in Kathmandu as thematic Lead for climate and resilience. He has been supporting to the Ministry of Forest and Environment in UN Climate negotiation since COP-26 as a party delegate.
